This is the final 2 quilts that Kathy and her amazing Tucson quilting guild blessed this family of Paradise, California with as they had lost all in the fires and just been blessed with a new place to live.

This is what I do. I reach out and you are all so many blessings for those in need who lost everything.

I am still needing more quilters, so please step up and ask what is needed.

I asked and many of you have stepped up and as usual, I am posting the pictures of quilts and their receivers as they come to me.

This mom, her little girl and husband as well as new baby on the way were blessed with an apartment and her husband a job so they could settle into a new normalcy after the Camp Fire in California.

So blessed that Kathy and her quilting guild in Tucson stepped right up and sent her 2 quilts.

While she is not a member of the first responder family, her story touched my heart and she was the first one that agreed to be helped.

Quilts For Camp Fire First Responders Paradise California

There is nothing more that I can say at this time, but please HELP!! 

Please consider reaching out to a first responder family with a quilt, it is such an act of love.

Right now I have an immediate need for quilts for 3 young people in a family of 9 all the others have been covered and I know I have quilters out there that can help.

NEEDS:

1 Lime Green Minecraft Theme (if possible) if NOT, the Lime Green is important for a 6 year old young man.

1 Yellow and Orange quilt for a 12 year old young man

1 Red, Gray and White quilt for a 16 year old young lady.

Come on quilters, I know you are out there as well as crocheters and I know you have enough stash to reach into your heart and put something together for one of these 3.

The quilts do NOT come to me, they would go directly to the family in need, it saves doubling up on the postage.

This family lost everything while there dad kept the plans and trucks going during the fire, I think they deserve something to call their own!

Camp Fire of California

It is with sad news I report that my own 84 year old step dad lost his home to the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA. We are blessed he is safe and staying at my brothers home until he decides where he wants to go.

In the meantime, many fire fighters and their families, law enforcement families, dispatchers, ambulance drivers and other first reponders and working daily while having no more home for their families to return to.

I am so overwhelmed by all of this, reading their stories and wanting to help.

Please, I know the holidays are upon us, but think about what you can do with quilts to help those that help us!

Needing Only 3 More Male Quilts For Family

I am so thankful to some of the most loyal quilters out there that reach out every time I call for a quilt to be sent to a family in need.

Right now, we have the family of Sturgis Fire volunteer and Assistant Chief David Fischer who lost this life a little over a week ago in a propane explosion that need quilts!

David has 7 children and his wife that were left behind with huge unfillable holes in their hearts and at this time, we have quilts being sent to his wife, his daughter, his 9 year old son, his 23 year old son. The need is for 4 more twin to double quilts for the other 4 sons.

Please, so many of you as quilters have a spare quilt or one that is almost complete and you do not know who you will gift it to. Please, won't you consider Chief Fischer's sons who lost their dad?

What a blessing our quilts are by showing these families people care and not just in their home towns, but from all over!

Quilts Need for Fire Fighting Family and Fire Fighters

I know I still have followers out there, you may not meet me for coffee, we may not text daily, but I know you are out there.

At this time, there is a huge need for quilts for a Sturgis, SD fire fighters family. Assistant Fire Chief David Fischer died in an explosion just over a week ago leaving behind his wife and 7 children, 1 girl 23 and 6 boys 9 to 23.

At this time, there is a quilt on the way to the 9 year old son, but we need to get the other 7 quilts out to the boys and their mom and I know we can do this.

Sadly, when we are finished taking that on, I would like to get the fire fighters that worked closely with Assistant Chief Fischer quilts of their own and this is where I need so many of you to please step up as we need 47 quilts for the volunteers.

Rebuilding A Quilt Stash

I truly would love to shout to the world that our family circumstances have changed and we are now out of the 5th wheel and into a stick and bricks home, however, right now that is not in the foreseeable future.

Knowing the huge need for quilts, we rent a heated storage unit and I am having my husband build some shelving inside the unit and I would love to begin collecting quilts of all sizes from crib and toddler to queen/king and colors for both male and female.

This will be done and when there is a need, I am hoping I can go to storage grab the number of quilts needed and pack them off and ship them out.  

By doing it this way, I am no longer struggling to find quilts but will have them ready to go.
